A In-Depth Review From A Drone Veteran
I always wanted to share my experience with buying a selfie foldable drone so today I decided to write this post so I can guide you through your first drone purchase. Buying a selfie mini drone would be something you would all benefit from. With this type of drones, you will enrich your experience of taking selfies and improve the quality of the image itself. There are many different models of foldable mini drones with selfie functionality, but if you want to get the best possible experience, you need to buy yourself the best model.
What Is A Foldable Selfie Mini Drone?
First, let’s explain to you what makes a foldable drone more special than other types of drones. Obviously, the major reason why people should buy themselves such drones is that they are lightweight enough and relatively small for you to easily put them in a pocket or backpack. Companies that produce them have achieved this by making the arms of the drones foldable. This means that the arms that hold the propellers fold inside the body of the drone.
Another thing is how they fly around and the way users control them. Namely, foldable mini drones allow you to control them with the help of an application that you install on a mobile device (smartphone or tablet). With this method of control, they are much easier to fly and control even by beginners who want to focus on getting good images rather than worry about yaw and control thrust. This great feature really opens a new possibility for great improvement in the process of taking selfies.
Finally, these drones are mostly autonomous and fly on their own following several predetermined patterns. This means that the user can set the drone to follow him from behind, or focus on his face from the front or even do a flyby around. The best thing about it is that the mini drone does all of these movements even if the user is moving around. The whole idea is for the user to simply order the drone to follow him so the person would start his adventure. Pretty cool, don’t you think drone lovers?
So let’s get down to business and determine which one is the best in 2018.
Which Is The Best Selfie-Making Drone In 2018 According To User Reviews?
It is rather hard to answer this question, as several of the ones we reviewed in this article are best in their own niche. Each of these is terrific to have, so you wouldn’t go wrong with choosing either one. We will leave the final decision to you.
DJI Mavic
Let us begin with the DJI Mavic. As you can see I like it a lot, as it offers all the features that a person could wish for in a drone of this type. The DJI Mavic can even compete with the bigger and more pricey DJI Phantom 4 even with its smaller size factor. So if you have the money to pay the price of $999 then this is definitely the one you need to get.
ZeroTech Dobby
Next on our list, we have the ZeroTech Dobby drone, which is another member in this category of selfie drones that I like. Its price is almost half the price of the DJI Mavic. However, Dobby has almost all of the advanced features which make it a great mid-range selfie foldable drone to purchase. The ZeroTech Dobby drone is available for the price of $349.
Hover Camera Passport
The Hover Camera Passport, on paper should be a better value when compared to the ZeroTech Dobby. In reality, some of you may not get over the fact that it has such a limited control range. At the price point $499.95, you may find this unacceptable. Nevertheless, the original design and shape of the Hover Camera Passport make it a very unique and cool drone. No one would even recognize that this passport-looking device is actually a drone.
JJRC H37 Elfie
The JJRC H37 Elfie drone, is probably my personal favorite. Compared to other quadcopters in this round up, JJRC H37 may not have all of their advanced features. But for me, it doesn’t even need to. This is a pretty amazing flying selfie camera that hovers and follows you around while you’re having great fun taking selfies. Do I even need to mention that it is for sale under $100?
7 Hawk 4K
Being a spec wise drone the 7 Hawk 4K should be a pretty good folding drone. Unfortunately, the manufacturer ruined it with that counterintuitive wrist band. Such a pity, but nevertheless it has a unique design for sure. You can buy the 7 Hawk 4K for the price of $560.
AirDog
Last on our list is the AirDog . This drone is large but with a price of $999, it is quite expensive. Due to its high price, the AirDog isn’t really meant to be used by average consumers.
